I am caring for my husband who is now bedridden for a year now plus raising four kids. He has had MS since 1992. He was doing ok until a year ago. Then he fell, dislocating his shoulder; two days later had two blood clots in both lungs. Its a miracle he's alive and healthy except for his MS. I have some tips for anyone needing to know how to care for someone in bed...

Hello, I weas dx'd with MS about 7 yrs ago and today, my younger sister was told that by her MRI results, she has early signs of MS. How often does this occur? Where multiple family members will have a dx of this?

    I am Renee Brooks, RN.

Dear McKenzie, According to the Nationa MS Society, MS is not hereditary. There are cases of parents with children developing MS, but all sources deny this assumption. But, If your sister has a MRI and plaque on her brain or demyelination is the term, she needs to start some treatment now.
